Summary

In Chapter 47, the temperature in the enclosed vehicle in which Peter and the others were riding rose rapidly. Michael began to drift in and out of consciousness. When the truck finally stopped and a tall thin man looked in at them, calling for stretchers, Michael sensed something was badly wrong with him.

When Michael woke, remembered dreaming about a fat woman with smoke coming out of her mouth. Peter and the others were brought into his room. Michael recognized Billie as the woman from Las Vegas and accused her of trying to kill him. Peter reminded Michael that Billie had saved them. Michael sensed there was something amiss about Peter’s attitude.

The strangeness continued when Michael was told that Sara was there and that she was okay. Jude Cripp, the man from Las Vegas, talked about how they found Michael. The...
