Summary

In Chapter 15, Wolgast drove himself and Amy to Oregon where there was a group camp in the mountains where he had stayed as a boy. He decided that he and Amy would live in the apartment of rooms in the second story of the lodge. After exploring, he woke Amy and told her they were home. Amy was better though she was still weak. Because she had developed a sensitivity to sunlight Wolgast covered the windows with plywood. She generally slept during the day and woke at dusk. Wolgast noticed strange things about Amy. For instance, her hair and fingernails did not appear to grow.

Because Wolgast and Amy were running low on supplies, Wolgast decided to drive down the mountain to a small store. On the front porch of the store, Wolgast looked at a copy of USA Today...
