Summary
In “Jess,” Jess and Theo are escorted to a table in the corner. Theo tells Jess that the place is owned by Meunier Wines SARL. As the lights dim, Jess sees someone in the crowd she believes she recognizes, but cannot bring to mind who it is.
The show consists of nearly naked women dancing on the stage. Theo whispers to Jess that the club, La Petite Mort, is very exclusive. Only people who have a metal card like the one in Ben’s wallet could get inside. Theo points out that at several points different men have left the theater and then returned a short while later. They all leave through a door in the back.
In “Sophie,” Sophie remembers the sexual encounter she and Ben had on the rug in her apartment as the members of her family file...
