The Paper Palace
The Paper Palace is the name of a camp deep in the Cape Cod woods. Elle’s grandfather, Armory Cushing, built the cabins that make up the camp with the intention of renting them out. Armory builds the outside of the cabins solidly, but runs low on funds so he finishes the insides with pressed paperboard, hence the nickname. The entire day that occurs in the present is set in this camp. Large portions of the rest of the novel are also set in this camp.
Granny Myrtle’s House - Connecticut
