Ceony
Ceony Twill is the main character of the novel “The Paper Magician” by Charlie N. Holmberg. Ceony is a nineteen year-old red-haired young woman and graduate student of the Tagis Praff School for the Magically Inclined. Incredibly talented and beautiful, Ceony is devastated to learn that her dream of Smelting-–magic with melting-–will not come true as she has been assigned to apprentice with Emery Thane in Folding: magic with paper. Upon meeting Thane, she is smitten with his kindness and his talent, and ultimately begins developing romantic feelings for him as she trains alongside him. When Thane goes away for six days, she feels lonely without him.
