Summary
“Revival Road” begins with an introduction to Faye Travers, who lives on the titular street in the town of Stiles and Stokes with her mother, Elsie. Faye and Elsie’s neighbors, the Eykes, are a lower-class family who own a dog that they keep tied up outside their house. One day, Davan Eyke—their child—arrives at Faye’s doorstep with a missing finger. He has crashed his father’s car in a gully and wants Faye’s help pulling it out. Faye’s chain breaks, though, and ultimately Davan is forced to call a tow truck, which causes great damage to the car in extracting it.
