Part Three, The Truth: Now, May 1998 and Epilogue Summary

Jordan leads Chris through his story, underscoring the fact that Chris does not know who pulled the trigger, him or Emily. Barrie tries to emphasize the fact that Chris was holding the gun and that he went there with the gun. Jordan has Chris stress that he did not go to the carousel that night with the intention of killing anyone, himself or Emily. Jordan rests his case after Chris leaves the stand. Barrie is confident that Chris has already sunk himself and it does not matter what she says in her summation. Jordan, however, offers the most important summation of his life. Jordan, despite his own disbelief in truth, stresses truth in his summation. Then it is time to wait. Everyone is on pins and needles, except for...
