Summary

This section begins in Patricia's first person narration as she begins speaking to her audience at the conference. At first she makes them laugh, but slowly they begin to realize she is serious about the climate change. Patricia also notices her audience does not want to deal with the true reality, they only want to see the pretty pictures of trees. She informs them of all the magnificent things that trees can do and how we are all connected to them in some way. Towards the end, she tells her audience that she has tried to see from the standpoint of trees what the best thing a person could do for tomorrow's world. She says this as she pours a trickle of tree extract into her water glass and the tendrils turn green.
