In Chapter 22, Holly began crying when they reached the spot where Hoskins’ body lay. Ralph let her cry because he felt she deserved it. He asked about the weapon she had used and she explained it was one that Bill had introduced her to. She had made one for herself on impulse. Ralph got the keys for Hoskins’ truck from his pocket.
In Chapter 23, as they got closer Holly and Ralph heard Sablo honking the horn of Hoskins’ truck. Ralph told him what had happened with the Outsider. He said they needed to agree on a cover story before they left.
