Summary

In Chapter 1, during his meeting with Ralph, Sablo pointed out that the prints on the horse head belt buckle matched Terry’s but were worn, like prints an old person would leave. There was also a second set of fingerprints on the belt buckle that matched a set found in the van. They belonged to neither Terry nor Merlin suggesting that there was an accomplice. Sablo also pointed out the clothes were stained with what appeared to be semen but there was too much of it to be semen.

When Ralph told Sablo that Jeannie had suggested that there was something supernatural about the crime, Sable said his wife thought the same thing. She had even told him the Mexican legend of a man dying of tuberculosis who had been told he would be cured if he drank the blood of children...
