Chapter 4 Summary
Chills run up Stacy's spine as she wonders what she can do. Dr. Peterson enters, claims the Sleeping Beauty stuff was cornball, and apologizes for allowing the reporter to see Stacy. When Stacy admits she is scared the murderer might read the article, he tells her not to worry about that, and he offers to stay with her when two detectives from the Houston Police Department arrive to talk to Stacy, followed by Dad who objects he does not believe his daughter is up to this. Dr. Peterson assures Dad that Stacy can handle it, so the detectives question her about the person she saw running from her house. Explaining she cannot see his face, Stacy begs them to help her; she needs to know who he is because she hates him for killing Mom. She knows he was older, maybe a high...
