Summary
In “Sadie,” at home later that night, Sadie sneaks over to the vacant house next door to prove to herself that no one has been there. Inside the house, Sadie recognizes the bedroom from her dream. She also notices that the plastic that covers the rest of the furniture has been pulled from the bed and is laying on the floor.
Jeffrey confronts Sadie as she is walking back to her house. He is dragging a snow shovel behind him. The sound scares her. Jeffrey tells Sadie that something had happened that had scared Morgan in the days before her death. He asks Sadie if she knows what might have scared her. Sadie tells Jeffrey that Morgan did not tell her anything. She realizes for the first time that Jeffrey is grieving. Sadie suggests perhaps Jeffrey’s ex-wife was responsible, but Jeffrey says...
