Summary
Señora Pérez drops the children off at the migrant camp on the outskirts of Ciudad Juárez, but she does not want to leave them there because of how dangerous it seems. Smugglers appear everywhere offering to take them over the border for varyingly exorbitant sums. A gang-affiliated young teen shows them where to sleep. They plan to sleep and search for a smuggler the next day to take them across. They try to do business with Conejo, supposedly the best smuggler, but his rates are too high. They make a deal and decide to work with Conejo anyway.
Jaime decides to earn the extra money by drawing pictures for tourists in town. Ángela also helps him earn money by offering her sewing services. A man asks Jaime how much Vida costs because his children like her so much, but Jaime...
