Summary
The Convicting takes place in Chapter 19. Aspen comes to escort America there and on the way he tells America that the event is meant to send a message to those who disagree with the king. She reminds him that he has always delivered sentences as he was told and tells him not to judge her. She tries to get the other girls to not go through with giving the sentences, but Elsie thinks that she is tricking them as America is last and will look good if the others disobey and she obeys. When the time comes to begin the sentencing, America realizes that the men are not being put into jail for just theft because the sentences are so long. The other girls deliver the sentences, even Kriss who delivers her to a man with a tattoo that looks like a star...
