Summary
In Chapter 13, Maxon and America travel in the back of a truck that normally goes to pick up food to meet August. They are with Aspen and another guard, Officer Avery. When they arrive, they go to the meeting place and Georgia and a young boy greet them. August is also there and they discuss the number of casualties there have been since the Southern rebels issued their threat. Maxon shocks America by wanting to know whether they should cave in, but Georgia says that it would not make any difference. August says that America’s advice to fight has already done a lot to keep the death toll down as people are arming themselves and fighting back. August mentions that his group could do more if they were armed and the question of whether the Northern rebels can be trusted comes up...
