Wildworld Zoological Park and Sanctuary
The Wildworld Zoological Park and Sanctuary is the prime setting of the novel. Ruby lives in Elephant Odyssey with her herd of elephants. At night, they sleep in the Elephant Pavilion so that they can stay safe. Right next to the Elephant Odyssey is Gorilla World, where Uncle Ivan and the other gorillas of the park live. Between Elephant Odyssey and Gorilla World is a secret place called Canine Corner. Julia, whose father works at the park, brings Uncle Bob, a former stray dog, to visit with both Ruby and Ivan. Canine Corner is the only place Bob is allowed to go. Although the sanctuary is not perfect, it does become home to Ruby and her friends.
