Summary

Chapter 13 is titled “Once Upon a Time, a Dragon.” The chapter begins with the word “Listen.” The Stone talks about dragons. They have “glittering personalities” and magic, though a dragon who uses that power too much will become unhealthy and small. There was once a dragon that skinned and ate an antelope. The dragon's curiosity prompted him to put on the antelope's skin, and he became an antelope. From that experience, the dragon learned to enjoy the speed and agility of an antelope, but also learned about the terror of being hunted by a lion.
