Summary

Chapter 12 begins in February of 1980, with the gang still visiting William in Fort Derry. William takes the gang to the Sweetheart Mountains, where they search for the mountain full of uranium that William had discovered when camping with Sarah as college students. William buys the land from the local rancher, and then writes letters to different corporations, informing them of the uranium. William sells the land to Texaco for $25 million, which the gang splits among themselves. When they go into Helena to cash the check, the bank is closed, so they stay the weekend at a motel, which serves as a bittersweet farewell. After getting the money, they take Ollie and Tina to the airport, where they leave for Denver. William goes back and buys the motel they stayed in, partially just to fire the lippy guy who had been at the front...
