Fletcher Wulf

Fletcher is a 15-year-old who lives in the small village of Pelt as the novel opens. He is an orphan who has been raised by Berdon, the blacksmith in Pelt. The two have a close relationship, and Berdon has had a positive impact on Fletcher's life. Fletcher can read and do arithmetic because of his role in Berdon's business.
