Summary
In Chapter 31, Sylva reveals that Tarquin and Isadora had invited her to go to Corcillum, and she had foolishly thought she would be safe as long as she was with them. They ran as soon as there was trouble. Sylva says she does not like them, but she felt it was her job to befriend them as a step toward bridging the gap between humans and elves. Sylva and Othello talk about the feelings among their people and Sylva says her people are divided on whether they should join the humans in the battle against the orcs. She reveals that there was a time in history when humans and elves did join forces. Sylva also reveals that the elves had once kept demons, but the practice had died out for various reasons.
