Summary

In Chapter 16, Addison refers to being in Philip Sidney Memorial Hospital for four nights. Addison then says that Mr. Broadus takes him to the hospital after he collapses against the piano, cutting his head. Addison was running a fever and doctors believed it to be an untreated virus. He also gets stitches in the back of his head. Mr. Schatch talks to Addison one day at the hospital, saying he knows “something has been going on” and wants Addison to confide in him (209). Addison assures him that he was acting differently because of the virus, and that he is now fine. Mr. Schatch asks outright if Digger is pregnant, which makes Addison laugh and make sarcastic comments about that. Mr. Schatch stops asking.
