Summary

In Chapter 17, "October 19, 2007, Rose, Life 5," Rose listens to a playlist Thomas made her. Their relationship has deepened. Luke comes in, and she hides what she is doing. She does not feel guilty.

"Two nights later," she and Thomas walk down the street "holding hands" (158). Sometimes Rose worries someone she knows will see them. At the end of the night, they go to Thomas's. Luke is away.

Rose and Thomas kiss, then get in bed together. Rose has not told him she is pregnant. She does not want their relationship to end. She does not want the baby (163).

A month later, she tells Thomas she is pregnant. He leaves the café, unsure what to do. Rose fears losing him.
