Summary
In Chapter 7, Shao-yu took Ti Ching-hung, who dressed as a boy and slept with him in Ch'an-yüeh's place, as a concubine. When he returned to the capital, the Empress Dowager decided that he should marry the princess, Lan-yang, but she wanted to see him first. The Emperor called in Shao-yu while he was drunk and had him write poems on 12 women's fans. It turned out that one of the servants when the Emperor last called Shao-yu was Ts'ai-feng, and she still loved Shao-yu, she wrote a poem on the fan in response to his. When the Emperor collected the fans, she told him the story and prepared to kill herself, but he forgave her.
