Summary
In Chapter 12, we learn that Spinks continued to visit Doris, though they did not kiss again. Doris urged Spinks to get involved with an anti-segregation league she was a part of. He began to go to meetings, but he soon conceived of a story, which isolated him from the world as he tried to write it. It was about a bank messenger who is tasked with delivering a package to the fictional European city of S, which he somehow felt like he remembered, though he had never been there. He got a message from a mysterious woman named D asking for his help reinstate the heir to the throne. He opened up the package he was supposed to deliver and discovered that he was the heir.
