Summary
In Chapter 6, Spinks described his time in the Canadian Army. The conditions were harsh, and many times they had to sleep outside. They spent most of their time in Port Arthur, at the western end of Lake Superior. One day, Spinks received a letter addressed to Levente Rozen (Spinks' name before he was adopted) from his blood-related cousin in Budapest, Mihaly Rozen, who urged Spinks to ask an Emigration official to send word that he had work for Milhay and his family in order to let them come to Canada and remain safe from the Nazis. Spinks felt annoyed at first; where was this cousin when his parents had been murdered? However, memories from his old life (of which Mihaly was a part) kept flooding back.
