Summary
In Chapter 1, we return to the story of Charlie and Marina. Charlie quit his job as a journalist in order to write his book full time, sometimes working late into the night talking to himself. Charlie's book, called "The Book of the Law of Love," sold very well. Charlie received a little bit of fame and fortune, and began paying for things around the house (something Marina had been doing for years). Charlie had some nagging doubts about the truth of all of Barlow's claims as there were a few things he could not find information on, but Marina quieted his worries. The book also brought Barlow back into the spotlight, and he gave some interviews.
Chapter 2 chronicles Charlie's trip to Providence, where he spoke at a Lovecraft convention. Early in the chapter, Marina notes that here...
