Point of View

The novel is narrated by the two main characters, Iris Adams and Alice Ogilvie. The girls are 17-year-old high school students. They are both full of hubris and disdain for everyone around them after having successfully solved the complicated murder of Brooke Donovan in the previous novel while the police department did nothing, and the rest of the town refused to believe in the ability of two teen girls. When Rebecca Kennedy is attacked at the castle, both girls become instantly obsessed with finding out who really attacked her because they want justice for Rebecca and because they do not want Helen Park to go to jail if she is innocent.
