Summary

In Chapter 25, when Frost showed the mask the Night Bird wore to Frankie he thought she recognized it even though she claimed she did not. He described how the Night Bird was playing games with them both but had left no clues. When he mentioned that he thought the perpetrator was “tech savvy,” (166) he again got the feeling that Frankie was not telling him something. Frankie additionally claimed not to recognize the button that Frost showed her that had been left in the garage from which Christie was kidnapped. Frost finally asked Frankie if she really wanted to catch the guy who was tormenting her or if she was protecting him. She chose her words carefully as she said that she had told Frost all she could tell him at that time.
