Greed
Greed can motivate actions that are less than honorable. In this novel, several people manipulate other people and situations because of their greed. These include a group of con artists who bilk seniors out of their money, a woman who lies about the paternity of her child, and a man who is desperate to regain custody of a child because of a will that makes that child wealthy.
