Summary
In Chapter 3, in mid-September, Ruben received a letter from Rabbi Dr. Chaim “Hank” Edelman, the President of Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning. In the letter, Edelman highly recommended Netanyahu “for the position of Professor of History at Corbin College” (54). After knowing Netanyahu, his wife, Tzila, and their sons for “over a decade,” Edelman was well acquainted with the family (54). He believed Netanyahu to be “a major statesman and political hero” (54). Netanyahu worked at Dropsie throughout the war. Although Edelman served as his faculty advisor, he felt Netanyahu had advised him. While researching, writing, and teaching, Netanyahu maintained his “political responsibilities related to his position as Jabotinsky’s chief representative in the United States” (55).
