The Waystone Inn

The Waystone Inn is an inn owned and operated by Kvothe (Kote) and Bast. The place has a coterie of regulars, and it hosts travelers as they come and go along the road toward the town of Newarre. A pub and restaurant are located downstairs, with stay rooms located upstairs. It is where Kvothe tells Chronicler his story through the course of the first day, until the Inn gets busy at night.

The University

The University is located across the river from the large town of Imre. The University is where Kvothe travels to study the Arcanum, and it s where much of the middle part of the novel occurs. The University is home to the Masters, classrooms, and the Archives.The town which surrounds it is host to everything from inns and brothels to bookstores and supply stores.
