Summary

Agatha Miller is approached by Archibald Christie at a dance in “Chapter 1: The Manuscript.” He does not introduce himself formally but requests an upbeat song for them to dance to. Agatha consents, abandoning her dance card which is filled with potential suitors.

Archie has breakfast at Sam James’ home in “Chapter 2: Day one after the disappearance”. Sam toasts to Archie and his lover, Nancy. Archie is annoyed to be interrupted by a phone call from Charlotte Fisher, his family’s secretary and governess. Charlotte informs him that Agatha is missing.

Agatha and Archibald make small talk while they dance together in “Chapter 3: The Manuscript”. Archibald finally tells her his name and position in the army. He is a lieutenant and pilot.
