The unfinished puzzle

The unfinished puzzle represents the broken pieces of Ben’s life, and since the puzzle has no reference picture, Ben thinks it is impossible to piece together, in the same way he think his life is permanently broken. Ashley disagrees and proves him wrong on both counts.

The finished puzzle is a symbol of the personal perspective involved when introspecting one’s life. It also symbolizes Ashley being the one who is able to piece Ben back together. Even when the puzzle is finished Ben still is not sure what to make of it. It is a picture of a sun near the horizon of the mountains. He asks if it is a sunset or a sun rise.
