Part 4, Crazy Eddie Answers: Chapter 38, Final Solution Summary

The Motie war for control over the humans has begun. The conflict begins with small shows of strength. The group of Moties and Midshipmen reach and try to defend the Castle. Outside, the two factions struggle over control of the Castle. The Navy men desperately use a helmet comm to call Lenin. Rod Blaine's voice answers, and the men get suspicious. Rod can't answer their cryptic question and they realize it's a Motie using his voice. Charlie realizes her Master has won; the men are doomed. When the troops enter the castle, Staley dies defending his post. When the troops ask the others to surrender, Whitbred makes his choice. He beheads Porter, whose faith forbids suicide, and then kills himself to protect the Empire's secrets.
