The Motie ship is clearly not a warship. Rod sends the space taxi over to the new vessel. From the volunteers, Whitbred is sent once again.

This time, when Whitbred opens the airlock on his small ship, the response from the Motie ship is immediate. He gets to the other airlock and waits for the Motie to invite him inside.

When the Midshipman is dressed down to a tight skin suit, the Moties conduct an extensive exploration of his physiology.
