Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, formally created in 2000, is the backbone of Bill and Melinda’s philanthropy. The foundation was started with the goal of saving children from curable diseases. Over time, however, it expanded to family planning, accessible contraceptives, agricultural advancements, and HIV prevention. As Bill and Melinda’s understanding of these complex issues increases, so does the values and reach of the foundation.
