Summary
Chapter IX details Captain Leopold McClintock’s expedition to search for the lost Franklin expedition. They heard stories from Inuits about evidence of cannibalism amongst the lost party. They found a note at a cairn written by Commander Graham Gore and another written later by other officers. They deduced from this that Gore had died before the march across the ice that killed the rest of the men began.
In Chapter 9, Adela frantically warned the narrator that there was a mole in the Ministry and the narrator was in danger.
