Part One, The Grave Dancer, Chapters 33-34 Summary
Bear Kupchek has been contacted by an informant who tells him he has information that could crack the St.-Germain case wide open. Bear is to meet this person in Central Park. Bear has lived in New York all his life and knows that Central Park was once a place to fear at night, but no longer feels that fear since the park has been cleaned up. However, Bear is still cautious as he makes his way to the meeting place. Bear makes his way into a tunnel and hears someone call his name. When Bear responds, the speaker begins firing a weapon at him. Bear feels the pain immediately, but instead of falling or running away, he charges toward his assailant.
