Summary

On Wednesday morning, Ursa is surprised to find Absalom returned. She tells him about the meeting which he approves of, but does ask her to keep her ears open. Maren arrives with her mother and Diinna to collect Ursa, and Ursa notes Freja’s immediate hostility to her and realizes Diinna is the Sámi woman who did not come to kirke and made the runes. She also sees Diinna holding Erik like a baby, though Ursa thinks he is too old to be held that way. They head to the meeting. Toril and Sigfrid arrive, wishing to speak with Ursa, and Ursa realizes her husband has spoken with them.
