Summary
Ursa awakens the next morning and feels some trepidation at her upcoming marriage. She knows so little about Cornet that she is not sure how to feel. The night before the wedding, Agnete and Ursa dine with their father and talk about Cornet, with Father revealing that Cornet had approached him at the harbor after seeing his cross, and was in need of a wife and a ship, both of which he paid Father well for. The novel reveals that Ursa is illiterate.
In chapter nine, Ursa and Cornet, now married, go to a tavern where Cornet has booked a room for their wedding night.
