Summary

Chapter Forty-Seven

There was no concept of time during the Changing for Thomas. It was very similar to being in the Box. He felt he was floating in emptiness and staring into blackness. At one point he felt as if a tower of thick gray mist was moving toward him. After it passed, he saw only a great expanse of white. He felt the return of memories and he felt much pain.

Chapter Forty-Eight

Someone was calling to Thomas, but he didn’t answer. It was Chuck begging him not to die. Then, Thomas remembered everything about the Glade – the Grievers, the Maze, and the Changing. Thomas forced his eyes open much to the delight of Chuck who announced the news to everyone. Thomas had been out for three days. He was extremely sore and exhausted.
