Summary

Chapter 17 is titled “Rogarou Comes Hunting.” On the eighth day after RiRi's death, Miig orders everyone off the trail just in time to avoid two Recruiters. French climbs a tree and finds a barn. They make their way there to spend the night. They are still carrying RiRi's possessions. When they reach the barn, they discover a loft filled with fluffy hay and everyone decides to sleep there, but Minerva refuses. They leave Minerva with a couple of sleeping bags, and everyone else goes to sleep in the loft. They are awakened during the night when Recruiters enter the barn.
