Summary
Chapter 33
Rhea and Tiberinus take Annabeth throughout the city, giving her a tour of all the historical landmarks on the way. They arrive in front of a marble building. Rhea tells her that it will lead underneath the city, and that Annabeth has to navigate her way underneath Rome if she wants to find the statue. She confirms that it could bring peace for both camps, but also warns her that she’s going to have to face a guardian if she hopes to succeed. She travels underground and finds that the stairs end and she has to descend a long drop to continue. She is briefly frustrated by her lack of powers, thinking about all the ways her friends could easily overcome the obstacle. Annabeth calms herself and starts thinking like a child of Athena, cleverly creating a makeshift rope ladder out...
