Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant was arguably one of the greatest American basketball players ever to be part of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the Los Angeles Lakers for twenty years, a career longer than many of his peers. He set many records, endured many injuries, and gained a reputation for intense focus and an almost obsessive drive to win. As he portrays himself and as other contributors to the book portray him, that drive gave him a reputation for being a difficult teammate, or for being somewhat self-centered on the court. He comments repeatedly, however, that as he matured into the game and into his career, he became more and more able to see the need for building an effective, powerful team and not just playing for himself.
