Sunday, 3rd June: Chapters 39-49 Summary

In Chapter 39, Perenelle speaks with de Ayala and learns that Dee also imprisoned something else on Alcatraz in a cell far beneath the island. Perenelle asks de Ayala to take her there even as she becomes aware of Morrigan's arrival.

In Chapter 40, as Josh begins to battle the Disir, Sophie becomes aware that he is in immediate danger. Dee helps Josh escape the Disir with fire magic. Josh drives away with Machiavelli and Dee in the mistaken belief that Scathach has abandoned him to the Disir and the Nidhogg.

In Chapter 41, Joan arrives at the banks of the Seine just as Josh drives off in Machiavelli's borrowed car. Joan battles the Disir as Flamel and Sophie free Scathach from the Nidhogg. Nidhogg falls into the water when the dock under him gives way due to...
