Summary
In Chapter 11, Conn performs some chores for Nevery and then asks him about the stones he found in the workroom. He understands that they are locus magicalicus stones, and says he liked the one that showed him the “gray lady” the most (120). Nevery is surprised at this, and asks Conn if he is lying. He is shocked to learn that Conn was able to see the images of the wizards simply by touching the stones. He explains how a locus magicalicus can be any stone, and that it forms a powerful bond with its owner. Nevery instructs Conn to begin searching for his own locus magicalicus at once.
In Nevery’s journal, he describes Conn’s ability to see the owner of a stone. He reveals that the gray lady Conn saw is his mother. He is also impatiently awaiting a response...
