Summary

In Chapter 5, Conn wakes up for the third day of his apprenticeship. After heading to the makeshift kitchen and washing up, Benet makes tea for Conn to take to Nevery. Conn notices that Nevery is sneezing, and asks if it is because of the dust. Nevery explains that he has a cold, and Conn replies that he has never had a cold--or any other type of illness. Nevery finds this curious. He instructs Conn to go into the city with Benet and buy supplies to make breakfast.

Once in the Twilight, Benet gives Conn some money and instructs him to go into a clothing store and buy a new outfit, per Nevery’s request. Conn is excited by his new outfit and takes pride in his new appearance. Benet and Conn then buy food and cooking supplies before returning to Heartsease. Back...
