Buttons

The buttons are symbols of conflict and differing perspectives. Many people who attend Abigail’s lectures wear campaign buttons that bear the phrase “All will be well” (3). Even though it appears all people wearing this button would be on the same side, some of the wearers are in conflict with the others because of the different ways they interpret the phrase. During the pandemic, the phrase was used as a catchphrase to remind people that things would return to normal one day. Abigail, however, uses it to indicate that under her plan, all people living will be well because it will be mandatory that the sick, elderly, and disabled be euthanized.
