Summary

In Chapter 32, as Haniya walked into the bistro after hearing Isabelle tell the story of how she had a gun pointed at her head inside that bistro and intended to die for her friends, Haniya had a new appreciation for the people there. Isabelle believed she was dead when she heard the explosion of the gun. Haniya learned how Ruth had crawled across the floor of the bistro in spite of the shots still being fired to hold Isabelle’s hand so she would not die alone. The others held her hand and supported her through her recovery.
