Summary

In Chapter 14, Armand went to Colette’s house to talk to Abigail and Debbie about the shooting. He learned that Abigail and Debbie had been best friends growing up but had grown apart when they went to college. They had reconnected when Abigail’s father died.

Abigail told Armand she could not think of anyone specific who would want to kill her. When he asked why she had come to that area at all, Abigail first claimed she had wanted to see Colette. Then, she said the truth was that she had sold her house. She was being forced to go through the boxes of her father’s things she had just put away when he died. She was finding that going through the boxes was emotionally draining.
